Running gas turbines means ongoing, unpredictable costs tied to volatile global fuel markets and potential carbon taxes. Solar carries a higher initial investment but minimal, predictable operating and maintenance costs — its "fuel," sunlight, is free.

In 2016, Marriott and Sheraton International Hotels set out to cut energy consumption and bring the environmental impact of their electric power need to zero — saving an estimated 10.7 million kilograms of CO₂ emissions per year. National Electrical Industries took a sub-contract agreement with Millennium Energy Industries to carry out the installation work.

105,000-Unit LED Street Lighting

Jarash · Ajloun · Al-Mafraq · North of Jordan

Traditional street-lighting consumes a great deal of energy, runs at low efficiency and has a short lifecycle. In 2023, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources signed an agreement with National Electrical Industries to supply, install and maintain 105,000 LED street-lighting units across Jarash, Ajloun and Al-Mafraq — replacing the legacy fixtures entirely.

The programme was planned and tracked through detailed GIS mapping — clustering installed counts by area and recording every pole at the individual-fixture level, including the wattage class of each unit.
